Weigh In Wednesday 2/26/20

Weigh in:    256.4   lbs       This week:    +/- 0   lbs Weekly Calorie Limit: 12,460       Calories consumed: 9,429 Exercise goal: Walk 3 times a week for 20 minute minimum ✔ Health goal: Drink 2 bottles of water daily ✔ The Road So Far..... Hello plateau. Last week, I blamed myself. This week though, I did my best. I watched my calories carefully every day. I drank water all day, every day. I went on walks 4 days this week instead of 3, and all for much longer than the 20 minute minimum. Imagine my dismay when I stepped on the scale this morning and saw the same number as the last two weeks. Confused, I started to do what I do best in these moments. Rather than let the frustration take over, I started to research. I know about weight loss plateaus. I know they are to be expected. But, I have to admit I wasn't expecting it so soon. Weigh in:    256.4   lbs       This week:    +/- 0   lbs Weekly Calorie Limit: 12,460       Calories consumed: 10,822 Exercise goal: Walk 3 times for 20 minute minimum ✔ Health goal: Drink 2 bottles of water daily ✖ The Road So Far... I confess I did not pay enough attention this week. With Valentine's Day, a flu bug, school projects and more keeping me busy, I didn't pay enough attention. I'm happy I didn't gain from last week. But I'm disappointed there was no loss. Maintaining isn't enough for me. I did stay under my calories. So, I'm a little confused about how there was zero loss. I guess it proves weight loss isn't all about calories in versus calories out. My metabolism is greatly affected by the Hashimoto's. So despite meeting my exercise goal, and coming in under my calorie goal, I didn't do enough to get my metabolism to burn the calories needed to see a loss. Weigh in:    256.4   lbs       This week:    - 1.6   lbs Weekly Calorie Limit: 12,460       Calories consumed: 9,108 Exercise goal: Walk 3 times for 20 minute minimum ✔ Health goal: Drink 2 bottles of water a day ✔ The Road So Far... A pleasant surprise. I felt a little off this week. A little discouraged. Little defeated. Little down. I really didn't expect a loss at all. I counted calories. I did my walking. I drank my water. But for some reason, I felt like it wasn't going to work. I'm happy to see I was wrong. I guess my fiance gets to say, "I told you so". He's been incredibly encouraging. Every time I needed to lament about my perceived lack of progress, he was right there telling me I was doing the best I could. He reassured me. He calls me beautiful and says he loves me every chance he gets. I can't express how thankful I am to be blessed with this man's love. It's what keeps me disciplined on days when motivation wanes. Weigh in:    258.0   lbs       This week:    - 0.8   lbs Weekly Calorie Limit: 12,460       Calories consumed: 9,769 Exercise: Walk 3 times for 20 minute minimum  ✖ Health: Drink 2 bottles of water a day ✔ The Road So Far... Fatigue hit hard this week. And I think I know the culprit. (Maybe TMI, so if you're easily offended, stop reading now.) P.M.S.! Women, I know you understand. The week before menstruation is the worst! Of all the symptoms we suffer (bloating, cramps, back pain, breakouts, and more...) fatigue seems to hit me the hardest since my battle with Hashimoto's began. When it started, I hadn't yet been diagnosed. And the only way I could describe it was that I couldn't keep my eyes open. It was so much more than that. I felt weak. As if every part of my body weighed an extra 50 pounds, from my eyelids to my pinky toes. My arms ached from exhaustion. My back twinged constantly, as though I'd slept on it wrong every night for a year. Fatigu

January starting weight:    267.0   lbs January ending weight:    258.8   lbs Weight lost this month:    -8.2   lbs Weight lost this year:    -8.2   lbs Weight lost from highest:    - 34.2   lbs January Goals: * Weigh in Wednesdays - ✔              It was definitely easier to remember weighing in on Wednesday mornings.  * Calorie Limit: <1820 / day, <12,740 / week - ✔       I am very proud to say I came in under my calories every day this month! With the help of My Fitness Pal, I was able to really keep track of my calories throughout the day.  * Exercise: Go for a walk 3 times a week - ✔✖       This goal was going well until I injured my leg. But the great thing is, I learned from it. I spent some quality time with my family during these walks. It was actually quite enjoyable.  * Health: Drink 1 bottle of water daily - ✔✖       I had mixed results with this goal as well. And again, I learned from it.
