New plan!

Image
The holiday season. It's a busy time. This year I had plans, and then as it tends to do, life happened. It has been a whirlwind of a week. The whole family felt the loss of our cat. Even our other cat, Loki. He wasn't eating as much. He would look for his brother all day. He would meow all over the house, which for a cat who isn't very vocal was strange behavior. It broke my heart to hear him crying at the door where Daxter typically waited. See, Daxter was an inside/outside cat. Loki is inside only. He would worry if Dax was ever left outside too long. And that's the only time we heard him meow. To let us know Dax was waiting at the door to be let in. He's never been the only cat before. Our daughter was very emotional. Daxter was the best cat to cuddle her. He never minded her hugging him or holding him. Loki is a good boy, but he doesn't much like close cuddles. So we sat down as a family to talk about our options. I wasn't sure I was ready for anothe

Weekly Weigh In....or not...

Weight:   ???  So, after the week from...well...not Heaven if you catch my drift, it's not at all surprising that my scale has given up on me. It has been absolutely grueling. Two days this week I was in bed with excruciating abdominal pain. There were no other symptoms. No medicine seemed to alleviate it in the slightest. On the bright side, no one else in my family suffered from it. Which also means, we don't know what caused it. It could have been a flu bug of some sort, and my family was lucky enough to avoid it. It could be tied to my fibromyalgia or Hashimoto's. It could be something else entirely. That's one of the difficulties of having chronic pain. With these disorders,  I never know if the pain is connected. Is that pain from the cold, rainy, winter weather, or did I actually pull a muscle? Ouch, that hurts, is that a fibro flare or a pinched nerve? Stomach pain... something I ate, my disorder, or appendicitis? Could this chest pain be just one of my atta

Weekly Weigh In 12/1/19

Weigh in:   266.8   lbs This week: -2.2   lbs The Road So Far... From first blog:   16.6   lbs From highest weight:   -26.2   lbs Ok. So I lost the weight from last week. I don't want to count it as a victory until I see the scale next week. If I can keep it off and make a little more progress, I'll feel better about it. Gaining and losing the same 2 pounds is not the goal.  Yesterday my daughter and I caught some kind of flu bug. Today is all about nursing it and rest. Hopefully it's just a 24 hour thing. I'm not surprised by it. We had a busy week. Thanksgiving projects for our little family. We went to see the new Frozen movie. In my opinion, it was better than the first! Disney really got into some deep feelings and teaching kids how to cope in an age appropriate way. I am impressed! I did everything I could this week to keep myself moving. It wasn't easy with our weather. It has been cold, windy, and raining. I love the smell of rain. The ra
