Short Update!

Weigh in: 269.2 lbs

Just dropping in to post an update, for anyone who's wondering.

Our little family has been very busy! I mistakenly thought that once we settled into our new place, things would calm down. What I failed to take into account was the time of year!

Fall is my favorite season! Yes, I'm what millennials call a "basic white girl". And I'm proud of it! Pumpkin spice and harvest apple? Give me ALL. OF. IT. (Although, I did spot some pumpkin flavored pet food in the grocery store that left me questioning if maybe pumpkin spice has gone too far...) I love decorating our home with all the beautiful colors of Fall. I love long sleeves on light sweaters, and flannel shirts. I love sipping hot tea while a cool, gentle breeze kisses my face. There are a few downsides. My fibromyalgia does NOT appreciate weather changes. Expressed vividly with extra tension in every muscle, coupled with sharp pains and fatigue on days where the barometer drops. But even with my body's rebellion, my love for all things Fall persists.

As such, we've been so busy enjoying our favorite Fall activities,  I completely forgot about my blog! I keep telling myself to set a reminder to post, and then I get distracted. I've made several recipes, fully intending to blog them. But I end up having so much fun cooking with my daughter, I forget to take any notes or photos. I've been keeping up with my weight loss efforts. But I hit a plateau and it felt a little pointless to post the same weight every week. I finally broke and downloaded My Fitness Pal to keep better track. I was avoiding it, because I've been trying to limit my phone use recently. These days we use our phones for everything. We use our phones to tell the time, to schedule our days, set reminders. We use them as cameras, and camcorders. We use them for social interaction, and breaking news stories. My daughter's school has an app to communicate with parents. I didn't want to add another reason to rely on my phone. Especially because my phone was over 2 years old and finally dying on me. However, it's actually been incredibly helpful. Fully recommend it! The plateau is over, and I'm finally under 270. Just barely, but it's something.

So there you have it. A little update. I know it's not much and I haven't been consistent in posting. I do apologize to the 16 people who actually read this blog. I appreciate everyone who takes the time. And to the few of you who have messaged me asking when the next blog is going up, I want to say thank you. I'm going to try to be more consistent with posting. I bought a new phone on Friday, so I'm not having the technical issues I was experiencing with the last one. As soon as this blog goes up, I'm setting an alarm on my phone to go off once a week and remind me to write.

Until next time! 🥰
